Been on Mirt since April initially 15mg now 7.5mg. Doing better on 7.5mg less side effeces for me but still getting muscle pain in arms.
Need advice on tapering off in the next few months. I am very sensitive to meds so need to go slow with a soft landing! Psych said just to stop which is pretty poor advice I think. Doc won't prescribe the oral suspension said best he can do is the 15th oral dispersible capsuled. Can anyone suggest a taper plan. 10% a month might be too slow.
Cheers
Andy

Not sure if you're still reading this forum, but wondering how you're doing Andy? I have a lot of issues in common with you. Hope you are doing OK and that the Mirtazipine taper went well for you. x
I'm on 5mg and struggling with the antihistamine effects - very watery eyes and bad migraines. Only thing I can do is go back to 7.5mg and have a rethink
So sorry to hear you are still struggling, Andy! I'm a chronic migraineur too. I am under the care of a Neurologist and my migraines cycle every 5 to 7 days, so I am rarely migraine free. Are you in the UK? I am also fairly near your age - I'm 50.
Yes UK, I also have long QT syndrome which is an added complication meaning the meds that work well for me like amitriptyline I cant take. Cardio wasnt that happy about me using Mirtazapine either. Today is a bad day , im back up to 6.25mg but I feel awful. It seems the medical proffesion has adandoned me and I'm stuck with a chronic problem. How on earth I am going to get off Mirtazapine and onto something that works I have no idea, low levels seem to make my type of migraines (aura) worse, not to mention the watery eyes and myalgia
