I've been suffering from bad anxiety recently so decided to go back onto Sertraline, half a 50mg pill for 4 days so far. I've just noticed in the last few days it feels like I can't take in a full breath, my breathing feels a bit shallow and my chest feels tight. At first I thought this was bad anxiety but now I'm not too sure?
Thanks

I'd call a doctor or pharmacist to see what plan of action you should take. Breathing issues could be something like hyperventilation brought on by anxiety. Shallow breathing, it appears, can be caused by Zoloft, but that's not a very high dose. Either way, I think it would be smart to get a breathing assessment done (usually spirometry) to see your lung function. An urgent care, ER, GP, or others like these can provide that. None of us can be fully sure, but if you feel it could be interfering with your breathing, I would make some phone calls when possible. If it gets worse, seek medical attention. For ease of saving you breath/quicker attention, I would write down the meds you are on, dose, and next to Zoloft mention the date you started it and that you wonder if it's this med. It could be something and it could be nothing. When you see your GP, mention you restarted this so their charts match up. If you restarted this without GP direction, it's usually good to have a pharmacist or doctor go through your current medications and supplements to make sure there are no issues taking them together. For now, I would make a call to anyone who might be open, a nursing phone line that can advise, or something of the like.
