Has anyone else been pregnant and had anxiety? I had a history of anxiety before getting pregnant for the second time and now it has gotten worse with pregnancy. Has anyone found anything that helps? I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and open to suggestions.
Ive been seeing a counselor and she has given me different coping techniques that have helped a little. Being pregnant and dealing with anxiety is a totally different ball game as it is extremely difficult for me to be able to cope with.
I have also developed agoraphobia from my anxiety which has been a living hell. I need some words of advice or any coping techniques that can help.
Thank you!

Hi. Yes I have been through it. My first pregnancy it was more depression than anxiety. And during second one more anxiety than depression. I didn't find out it was anxiety until 5 months after I gave birth. My Dr would say I am dehydrated and it's part of pregnancy feeling like I couldn't breathe. My second pregnancy was bad couldn't sleep all night from anxiety. I actually have birth at 32 weeks. My psychiatrist told me that you can take medication while pregnant. An Ssri and benadryl helps to sleep and feel calm. I'm glad you were able to see that it is second round of anxiety with pregnancy. Therapy will help a lot. Also try reading the book DARE, praying, meditation, journaling. I hope this helps.
Sometimes the benefits of meds outweigh the risks. Many people take SSRI s while pregnant if they are so anxious as having a baby to early is a risk. So other than meditation, yoga, prayer, walking, and staying in the present moment ( grounding technique) also a Counselor that uses CBT, I would ask your OBGYN if meds are an option. Take care of yourself. You will for sure make it through this rough time❤️
With my fourth baby I had severe anxiety. I suffered a miscarriage before him and was so sick, couldn’t eat for a month lost a lot of weight. Then I got pregnant with him and start spotting, had a huge bleed at around 13 weeks which I thought was another miscarriage but it turned out to be a blood clot on my placenta. I know how you feel it’s very never racking to be anxious when your anxious just about yourself let alone the baby inside of you!! I hope you feel better.
