I’ve been taking mirtazapine for nearly 3 months now and the first week I felt really weird. Had weird dreams, felt dizzy, confused, like I had a really bad hangover and really disconnected. I started on 15mg for about a week then upped it to 30mg but within two weeks most side effects had disappeared. The only side effect I still get is it’s hard to wake up in the morning but a cup of tea later and I feel normal. I know it’s hard but give it time, all ur brain chemicals are trying to balance out which gives some pretty weird side effects. Hope this helps, here if u want to ask any questions x

I took a complete mental break down last night it was horrible iv a foggy head and all the effects you got. I feel like I'm looking out of someone else's eyes as weird as that is I just don't feel myself. So if I just keep going with it I'll feel OK? Thank you so much for getting back to me xx

I completely understand that feeling, at one point I felt paranoid as well. I sat in my bedroom for a whole day in and out of panic attacks. I forced myself to go for walks just to try and get away from the feeling. It’s partly our body getting used to it but also anxiety playing tricks. Try to remember that, nothing bad is going to happen.

I’m not a doctor so my advice is just advice on my experience and everyone’s experience is different x

what mg are you on? I started it 3 years ago after I suddenly developed anxiety and panic disorder. I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, and really just felt like I was going crazy. The first night I took it, I actually got a good nights sleep. I have put on about 30 pounds. I have tried on 2 occasions to come off it but can't. I get extremely nauseated and the panic sets back in. I also take Lexapro. That combo seems to work for me although I still have some break through anxiety most days, but nothing like it was. I hope you adjust soon and it helps you. No one could possibly understand anxiety unless they have experienced it.
