I'm not that familiar with that med, I think it's one they missed one me haha. I am on atenolol and at the height of my symptoms they increase the dose to see if it might work. My blood pressure dropped significantly and I felt like I would pass out so we stopped that.

Could it be hormones?

Have you had a complete physical in the last year and discussed this?

It could possibly be hormones, no i haven't. I recently gave birth to my daughter tho just over 2 months ago and that is when my anxiety peaked to its highest, its been uncontrollable since then and the sweating started after that

You should probably call your gyn for advice

Hi Lucky there are articles about how pregnancy affects your hormones with detailed explanation in an online magazine called "Today's Parent." You might find cutting out tea and coffee with tannins might help, as they can affect you if you are intolerant, with hot flushes in addition to a hormonal response. Tannins can also affect blood creating anaemia in some women. They are iron antagonists. Thyroid problems where the thyroid goes hyperactive are common ,after giving birth and may contribute to your anxiety. A lot is going on during the post partum period with breast milk, changes in sleep pattern and general problems of adapting to being at home with a new born. A few days after giving birth your hormone levels suddenly reduce and you don't produce oestrogen and progesterone at the same levels after the baby is born and much of the hormones disappear with the placenta. My daughter had a problem with hyperthyroid which went slow after several months. She is on levothyroxine for hypothyroid. The thyroid is part of the endocrine system, so may be you should have tests for your progesterone and oestrogen levels, and for your thyroid levels. Expect you can find a helpful lady doctor who might refer you to a gynaecologist, or refer your thyroid tests to an endocrinologist.

All this takes time, but you can ask for the nurse for tests for thyroid to start with, and get a print out of your results. These can be referred to thyroid unlocked Uk who may be able to help you understand your thyroid levels. If you have a health visitor they might be able to help with problems such as sleep deprivation and feeding. Sleep is so important but mothers don't want take sleeping pulls in case they are present in breast milk. Some mothers feel guilty about giving up on breast feeding and putting the baby on a bottle. All these problems may be part of the anxiety so parents forums might be helpful.
