Hi all, i'm new here, last year around this time i went through a few life changing events and the anniversary of them seems to be setting something troubling in me, im struggling to not go round in circles in my head thinking about things from the moment i wake up to all night trying to go to sleep, i have tried exercising quiting cigerettes and calming myself down when i get really anxious, but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment, any advice on how to deal with constant thought consuming thoughts?
Thanks

Hi friend and welcome to the community! I wanna let you know that your post is being heard if you don’t get the response you’re looking for.
I understand about the consuming thoughts. I deal with them EVERYDAY. That’s what overwhelms me and what keeps me up. I have medication for my anxiety but I don’t take it everyday. I’m not afraid to take it but I wanna deal with it on my own. Like if I set aside all the resources I have, all I really have is myself. So I’m always nervous bc I face everything head on and sober.
Try not to be too hard on yourself my friend. I get frustrated too when I do good things for self help but see no change. The fact that you try to better yourself shows a lot more then you think!
