Can anyone share their experiences w taking this medication? I just got prescribed a couple because I’m going on a trip next month and I am very scared of airplanes. However, I’m really scared of taking medicine, plus I heard benzos could be dangerous. Anyone have experience w taking xanex? Good or bad reviews accepted

Xanex
I took Xanax for about a year when I was going through cancer treatments. I am on Klonopin now. I had no problems with Xanax, but Klonopin is longer lasting.
I adore Xanax. If there is any medication that hasn’t had side effects on me ever that is Xanax! I absolutely love it and I take it 2x a day currently with SSRI’s to treat panic disorder. I also took Xanax when my father passed away when I was ONLY 16 YEARS OLD, no side effects. First two or three pills made me fall asleep faster, but nothing else. Now I take it in the morning and before bed, and never feel tired, sleepy or disoriented.
But, by all means please listen to your body. Don’t ever take more than you were prescribed. This is just my experience and everyone can react differently. I just happen to be sooooo much better when taking it.
Hello; I have been taking xanax off and on for years. I take it when i cannot control my anxiety. I am not a medication person so very seldom i will take it, I am prescribed 30 pills and i probably have 22 left from 2017, For me they worked, they took the edge off. When i get to that point that i need them i may take them for 2 days; and I am good. Not over powering, can function as normal. I had not side effects. When i have taken the 2nd pill for the night; very restful sleep and alert the next day, not groggy or dosing off.
Just a couple of pills for your flight you should have no issues as far as negative consequences. It will take the edge off and relax you for your flight. The only concern would be if you were taking it for a few
weeks as it is highly addictive. It is a highly effective med for anxiety, s real difference maker in the lives of those with chronic anxiety. Be well
