I was just wanted to know if heartburn is a symptom of anxiety. I have been worrying. I also know that heartburn is a sign of a heart attack. I had a EKG blood work CT scan or MRI echocardiogram and a nuclear stress test all in I almost three months. All test came back normal. Now I’m worrying if the heartburn is from anxiety or a heart attack and I have been worrying that something could change in my heart since I had the test done. I need some help.

Sometimes heartburn is just that...heartburn. Diet, position of your body when and after you eat can cause it, as well as stress or pressure. A young man in our office years ago was chugging Pepto Bismo periodically when the workload was really too much. You had some very sophisticated and expensive diagnostic procedures. Perhaps you may want to talk with your doctor about this. Doesn't sound like a gastric ulcer. Occasionally my man has this at night and he pops a generic "Tums" antacid before bed which seems to help a great deal. Stress and time pressures, I think could cause a passing physical "anxiety" . Hope you are feeling better soon and that this really is just normal heartburn that a change in diet will help......unless you are feeling "heartburn" all the time....in that case, really think you should consider talking to your doctor to make certain there is no ulcer or other condition that needs to be addressed.
