Im scared I will die soon
I feel the same way, and I wish I could offer something better than “it is most likely not the case.” I cannot even sleep right now because of how strange my entire body feels right now.
My throat has been hurting for four days now. Im scared i have an std even though i tested and it was negative
Your throat too? What are the odds? Mine has been on and off for a few months now, and I have been feel numb in my face and in my arms on and off as well. Apparently my wisdom teeth are coming in, but I do not see why that would trigger all of this. You likely do not have an STD, and maybe both of our symptoms are related to some horrendous form of panic disorder/hypochondriasis?
Omg same. My wisdom teeth have been coming in for months now since last year in july. Two weeks ago I had the globus sensation (feeling like a lump in my throat) then it went away. But my throat has been actually hurting. My nose isnt stuffy, my eyes are not watery or itchy, so im scared. I take pain medicine which helps but the pain comes back after the medicine is out my system
OMG. YES. Exactly!! My throat feels swollen, and it is also hard to breathe through my nose, especially on days where depersonalization is worse. I also have a lot of mucuous when I cough (which would be the only symptom indicative of some type of sinus/allergy-based issue, but there is nothing else to really back it up. In about a week or so I will be seeing a specialist for throat, mouth, and ear, because I have been experiencing a lot of issues with my ears aching from the throat up, as well as them becoming plugged. I looked up symptoms for impacted wisdom teeth, and interestingly enough both earache and the feeling of “having a sore throat” are both possible with all of the inflammation that occurs. I will be seeing my therapist before this appointment too, hopwfully to rule out/support the psychological.
Your throat hurting could be multiple things that aren't serious.
Do you have acid reflux? It's common with anxious or stressed people. The splashing of this acid on tissue that's more delicate can cause your esophagus to ache. This can go on for days during an episode making eating a small morsel feel like you've swallowed an entire Hungry Hungry Hippos game set.
Another more common thing, especially with anxiety, is the globus sensation. It is simply feeling like you have a lump in your throat, but you don't. Swallowing can feel difficult. I see now you mentioned it actually down the thread. Were you tested for strep? There a lot of nonfatal things this could be...allergies, a cold, candida (yeast infection of the throat), and so on.
I would try to relax and not let these ifs and buts stress you out until you can see a doctor to run more tests. I know that's easier said than done, but you might find the symptoms go away completely. Mindfulness apps could also help by focusing on something else for awhile rather than your throat. I suffer from health anxiety myself and have thought just having a pretty quick heart beat was a heart attack. It is so easy to let our minds take control and tell us things that it has to be.
So, worst case, I would go to an ER, do not feel foolish for having gone, and rest knowing you're okay. Best case, try to relax and remove all the metaphorical boulders on your shoulders. You're stressing out and becoming anxious. I don't think your dying as much as you're just going through a rough time. I hope you're able to relax, be kind to yourself for now, and get some resolve. I think you'll be okay and hope to hear that's the case. Please take care
Thank you this calmed me
