What are the best things you can do when you see boredom knocking at you door and she brought some bffs, stress and anxiety and they are offering you 2 six packs and all the Cammel you can smoke. In your head you're like "Oh, now I don't have to care that I don't have a social life, i'm gonna get relaxed and some fun).
What do you friends do when those creepy bastards show their ugly wormly faces?
Can you keep away and not drink or smoke?

I recently read something about not letting comfort get in the way of serving others using the analogy of how silly it would be to put a recliner in a race car. It was really convicting for me. How often do I come home and just chill on the couch rather than engaging my familial duties. What I'm learning is that the pro's of just keeping busy outweigh the cons. I'm trading exhaustion and a sense of accomplishment for a little bit of rest and a lot of guilt.
A little bit of a tangent, but the concept holds. Be open to filling your time with tedious, unfun tasks. That may not help with the boredom much but it should help the guilt and occupy time that might have otherwise gone to drink/smoke.
If it's any consolation you're not alone. Hang in there.
