Does anyone get sleepless nights and racing thoughts associated with their anxiety at night? I’m a mess at night. Usually I can fall back to sleep pretty quickly, but recently not so much. What helps you guys?

Sleeplessness
Hi I’m sorry for your struggles with sleep.
Meditation helps me switch off.
This one is just an example there are lots to choose from, and I change them fairly often...
My mind still wanders off,(that’s what minds do) and I keep bringing it back to what he’s saying, eventually I go to sleep each time...I’ve been doing this for a while now, and my mind wanders less and less ...I choose ones that are around 30 minutes long and I’m usually asleep well before the end..
Best wishes as I know sleep is so important to us...
Thank you. I think it is bc I am coming down on my Lexapro from 25mg back to 20mg. This is so hard right now. I am so anxious, nervousness, nauseous, and my brain is going a mile a minute , plus I feel like I’m crawling out of my skin! This is the worst by far. Thank you for that website
Oh yes that sounds awful. Let’s hope that eases off for you...
let your dr know how that’s affecting you, sometimes they can suggest something that will help...
I do find meditation so helpful. It takes time and patience (bringin the mind back from wandering into worry mode)but it does help..I think sometimes we are looking for a quick fix and meditation can take a little time with a wandering worrying mind, that’s got used to ruminating for years 😩
I drink some of the pukka teas too as misslovely suggests, prior to bed, it all helps 😊 x
Yes it is awful. I have a high sensitivity to it seems like every medication the doctors have put me one, and raising the dose of Lexapro has had bad side effects as well😫. The medicine was making me more sick, and if the doctor would have given my body a little more time to adjust and rest from all the on and off medicine I feel like I would be ok, but again 10 steps back from feeling better. It stinks but hope it won’t last long
Yes those changes all take time..
You can get back on track and it’s a good thing to remember. Although I know it is t easy by any means, those side affects from changes aren’t nice , sounds like you are doing all the right things. Your dr is mo itoring and don’t hesitate to speak with him or her if you need to during this time...and your reaching out here, getting tips and talking,
I’m hoping it won’t be much longer and you will feel much better.
One thing is for sure we need our sleep. If I don’t get my sleep I’m in big trouble 😩 so don’t let that go on too long without mentioning it to doc,
Try some of the tips you get here see how you go
Every good wish x
Yes i also have this
Ive tried allsorts inc meditation - sometimes that helps but i find that the Pukka night time tea helps me too!
Not all the time but i seem to get better quality sleep when i have it - i bought it from asda but you can get it elsewhere, i prefer to drink it slightly cooled rather than warm
Thank you!
