I would advice everyone to listen to Dr Weeks audiobook. She is amazing, at a point I thought she knew me inside out. She was describing my phobias one by one. She supports that (as irrational it may sound) we should embrace anxiety. Be happy when it happens and keep accepting it.
Just listen to her talk!

It’s amazing how she described all the feelings I’ve felt. I really thought I was exaggerating alone. And what has stuck with me is when she says that when we think we can’t walk to use our legs and not think that we have to return to our safety zone just keep walking.
Hi Stephanie. I have the Hope & Help for your Nerves and more recently purchased the audio "Pass through Panic". Unfortunately my CD player isn't working so I haven't had a chance to listen to them. You know, YouTube has a lot of her videos that you may listen to.
I go way back with Dr. Weekes theory. At one time, there were weekly support groups using her theory for Anxiety. Little did I realize that years later, that book would still be going strong. Unfortunately, there aren't any support groups using her theory. xx
Ive listened intently to DrClaireWeeks she is phenomenal, and so plain-spoken and clear for anyone to understand-I have listened online and presently have a book from the library-she knows her stuff, and is invaluable to people on this site.so pleased you too have benefitted from this wonderful persons legacy-she helped me enormously -I did have a book of hers called Self help for your nerves--that was 0ver 30yrs ago-but old fashioned she may be but uptodate as far as describing how our nervous system reacts when we are over-stressed and our nerves overwrought.
I agree, she is the best for me. I came to her teaching just recently, in this forum. I started to practice acceptance and to take situations when I am feeling terrible as opportunity to excersise the acceptance. I can already see results. Most noticeable for me is morning anxiety. I always wake up, my heart starts to beat fast and I have to run to toilet . But now, for about 2 weeks I wake up just fine.
Really good books. I think if I would have known about Dr Claire weeks earlier I did not have to start with medications.
Dr Claire Weekes is amazing and has been my lifeline I can't recommend her enough Every single person suffering from anxiety and panic attacks should be given one of her books on prescription
I always feel so happy when I see a positive post about Dr Weekes she was the most wonderful lady I'm old enough to remember her as a TV doctor giving advice
I have self help for your nerves. It’s available on Amazon. She has put me on the road to recovery. She’s just like you’re nana speaking to you on you’re shoulder. A true legend. Everyone should be given this book when born!
Good Luck. Hope Dr Weekes brings takes you to the road of recovery too. ⭐️
I couldn't agree more. Her books and audio fits me perfectly. Her audiobooks are also on Audible and I love to have that to listen to when I'm driving, walking, in a boring meeting ;-).
It's comforting to me to know that when I have a setback it doesn't mean the end of the world. It's helpful to understand all the various things she talks about and I've gained a greater appreciation for the nervous system, the way in which it functions and how to understand what it is doing. I'm what is called a Highly Sensitive Person and I now am less frightened about being frightened because I understand what my body is doing. I'm getting better at managing stress and taking calming breaks throughout the day.
I've experienced panic attacks diffuse in a few minutes or less rather than for me to give into that second wave of fear.
Spread the word!!!! Anxietynomore.co.uk is also an exellent website which advocates acceptance. There is no magic pill or miracle cure for anxiety. The best natural tranquilizer for anxiety, in all its various forms, is acceptance. Crack that and you'll be laughing.
