So I don’t understand why our body can produce pins and needles or itchy prickly heat type symptoms when we are anxious.
I guess it is our nervous system kicking into overdrive but why does this physical symptom occur I am baffled

Because its our actual nerve endings that are affected and cause that kind of sensation like im diabetic i eat sugar my toes and feet start with the pins and needles numbness pain etc when we stress we put the same pteasure on our bodies and that's the redponse we get ive had that for many years try to stay relaxed it will go away
When you tell your doc. you have anxiety. Quickly everything happening to your body is caused by anxiety. Isn't ridiculous?
On other hand what's true, when you are in anxious state you feel almost every pinch, every nerve that you'd never have felt if you were in a normal state.
It might not be your anxiety that is causing the prickly feelings/sensations. There are physiological aspects that can have those same symptoms. Thyroid disorder, adrenal fatigue, food and drug allergies are some to investigate and rule out. If you are taking any medication for depression or anxiety they can be a side affect.
I personally didn't start experiencing the heat, prickly feelings and sensations until I started discontinuing my anxiety meds.
