I have been given a script for blockers .

Can anyone tell me if they work ?

The best time to take one ?

I’m already on bp medication , so will my bp drop to low ?

Just wanting people’s input on these please .

Hi Jodz, that's a question you are going to have to run by your doctor.

I will say though, do not take them together. I am on b/p med as well and was taking

it 5am every day which did nothing for morning anxiety and higher b/p readings. Just recently my cardiologist changed the tme of day that I take my med to 10am. I can't

tell you what a difference that made. My bp stays within range, morning anxiety is lower

w/o having to add an extra dose or another beta blocker. Let us know what your doctor

suggests and how you are doing. My best xx

Agora1 he said just take one when I’m feeling really anxious as it will relax me ? I questioned about other BP tabs , but he said just when I’m really anxious .

That makes sense Jodz. You will be okay then. Your doctor knows your health and emotional history. It's just in those intense moments of anxiety that it will help calm and relax your blood vessels. There are many times my stress levels can break through my b/p med. I either use meditation and calming methods to bring my pressure down or more recently was told it's okay to take an extra pill . I did it on a couple occasions and nothing bad happened because we are sooo wound up that it takes that little bit more of meds to calm the body down. When you do need that beta blocker, don't fear it but allow it to do it's job in calming you down. It will take away the physical symptoms of anxiety including the butterflies in the stomach and just give you more of a peaceful mind.

Always follow your doctor's instructions and you will stay safe and be okay. xx

Hi jodz, beta blockers are great, they are a wide range tablet ,eg, propranolol is excellent ,will also help you with your BP ,been taking them for some years for increased heart rate a great help, i only take 10mg per day, see your GP, best wishes.

Darryl12kinvara thanx for that . It’s just great to know that other people take them and they are ok to take . I put my script in to chemist yesterday so need to pick up the tablets . Because I’m on BP meds I worry that it’s to many tablets etcetc as I hate taking them . But all good now 😁👍
