Health anxiety rising it's ugly head
Hi Cjc, I never knew there was an age requirement for a doctor to further investigate for bowel issues. My daughter was 18 when she had her first colonoscopy and other tests done by a GI doctor.
I will say that twisting stomach butterfly feeling you are experiencing sounds like a nervous stomach due to anxiety issues most likely health anxiety. When I was in my 20's I had what they called irritable bowel syndrome. not cause by physical issues but emotional ones which gave me that twisting butterfly feeling as well.
In either case, I would find a Gastroenterologist who may be able to alleviate your fears of the C word which in turn will calm down your intestines. Our stomach is the seat of our emotions and if you are in a constant state of emotional turmoil, it can be causing the bowels to react. Keep us updated. There's an answer out there for you.
I do have ibs but it's getting beyond a joke now never been this bad
You really need to talk that out with the doctor. If you are not satisfied in how he is handling it, get a second opinion. It's a very painful and life altering issue. I've been there and I understand your pain.
I suffer with the same , I’ve had stomach biopsies including the the dreaded C word, but nope nothing came back just he said I was deffo suffering with IBS otherwise nothing else stood out
I don't know if it's in my head because someone's son dad at work has stage 4 bowel cancer and me.and the girl at work who's son dad it is we talk about it in depth so I don't know if it's that what's knocked my bowels off but I don't know if thinking bout something can cause so much mess
This is an anxiety that you have total control over.
You have authority over what you eat.
Your GI issues are ( I would bet based on what used to happen to me ) 100% in your control.
Eating cleanly is the first place to start.
Choose a clean eating diet and stick to it for 6 weeks.
The GI issues will resolve and this health anxiety problem will be gone.
Exercise, helps the GI too.
SO a committed everyday 20 minute walk is the best place to start.
All the best.
