Cancelling appointments

Does anyone ever cancel appointments, I just get overwhelmed as the day approaches and have this nagging feeling to cancel.

Is this a common symptom of anxiety?

I always seem to cancel doctors appointments, I just hope my doctor understands that it’s not me , I just find extremely difficult sometimes.

I hope you are all well and as always thanks for listening.

Yes I used to a lot but now I rarely cancel as I got fed up of not being able to get anything sorted x

Yes, I cancel appointments and reschedule. It used to be caused by anxiety but not so much anymore. Life gets stressful and appointments take a backseat to others things like my destress time, which relieves my anxiety.

YES Harv,

used to cancel ALL of the time.

My intention was to go, always.

However when the day and time came, I was stuck like glue and called it off.

It happened for everything................and then one day

I got to an appointment and it started to get easier.

DO not fret about this. Do the best you can.

It still happens to me. Now I just cancel and forget about it.

When you are ready and it is the right thing for you to go, you will go.

Hi Doing well Agora. Thanks for asking..........

I realized I have not been to this page in a month or so, then realized I must be getting better.

Since the day I came here for help, I have taken the help offered and now I can do all of my daily stuff.

Went for a Hair cut the other day and noticed that I didn't even think about it for a second and was happy to go.

As for Harv's original post, above, part of going to appointments is knowing that I am in the right place.

For YEARS I had to take a pill to get out of the house to get to a salon, the bank, the dentist, the grocery, and the other day, I thought, that maybe none of those places were supposed to be for me. The hairdresser and her shop were NOT FOR ME, eventho I wanted it to be. Does that make sense???

If we have a good vibe with the dentist, the doc, the hairdresser, it is easy to be yourself and be accepted.

How I wish for the day, I can get in the car and drive the highways and byways again, GET ON A PLANE and go back to Chgo or somewhere. BUt for now, I will accept, that I am where I am!

Keep in Touch!

You have done well. It's a good feeling to get out and not think twice

about where you are going or how you will feel. It happens quite naturally.

Of course there will still be challenges but they too can be overcome eventually.

When we are ready is when things seem to happen. One step at a time really

works for me. Once I get comfortable, I take that next step. As long as you are

going forward and no longer stuck, you've won.

That one day will come for you, meanwhile embrace what you have accomplished.

You did good. I applaud you. :) xx

Is this a medical doctor or a therapist? It is probably best for you to try to go as you may get some relief from the appointment. xx
