I am 23 and live with my parents, they went on a holiday last Tuesday and I am having a hard time dealing with it, with various symptoms like discomfort in the left side of the chest (heart) and I panicked. since then it has been headaches, dizziness, sweating, chills, restlessness, trembling or shaking, nausea, abdominal pain. And today (Saturday) I am feeling pain in my back where the lungs are and I am coughing I am having a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep.

Now with that, all said. My parents have gone on holidays in the past, but it was coordinated with me having some time off from work as well I used to have some kind of worry and restlessness. But nothing as severe as this time around.

This year I got a job to keep in the meantime which is stressful. Due to the symptoms, I thought at first I was physically sick and called in sick Wednesday. I hardly had any sleep and was sweating on shaking throughout the night. Thursday I went to see the doctor, who ruled out an infection. and said it could be anxiety. however, I would have to speak with a Psychiatrist (No available times in the near future). I don't know what is going on with me other than I am losing my mind.

Alex4321, I'm glad you had your doctor check it out, ruling out a physical cause. Yes by all means anxiety can cause a lot of bizarre symptoms. The fact that this time around while your parents are on holiday, you are also dealing with a stressful job which is adding to your anxious thoughts.

Try finding some comfort in doing things you enjoy both after work and on the weekend.

Go to YouTube and find some relaxing videos on DeepBreathing/Meditation which can help in reducing your stress both physically and mentally.

Talk to a friend. Of course if your physical symptoms get worse or present with a fever, by all means go back to your doctor. Using the forum as a support system can help in not making you feel so all alone. We're here for you. Breathe and feel better. xx

I agree with everything. Relaxing will be hard but try and find some relaxation techniques again on u tube. Breathing exercises are good. But you will need to try and chill out and yes relax. I know its not easy but once you learn a few techniques it does get easier. Good luck.
