What scares you the most about anxiety .
For me, the constant uncertainty is what scares me the most. With so many possible outcomes from situations, I am always afraid that the worst is going to happen
Tebrown, by it's very nature anxiety makes us always think of the worst possible scenario. It's because our nervous systrms have become over sensitised so automatically a cough must be cancer and a muscle spasm in the chest must be a heart attack waiting to happen.
When we recover from anxiety these exaggerated responses don't happen.
When my heart starts to have palps and it continues for a few minutes and my heart is flopping around everywhere and it takes my breath away
When my heart rate increases (especially after drinking alcohol), any unusual feelings around my chest area and headaches.
I find that really scary as well.
Even though I know there’s nothing wrong with me, it’s just a really uncomfortable and unnatural feeling so it’s hard not to worry about it.
You nailed that right on! I hate when it happens but know well enough by now that it’s just anxiety.
The intrusive thoughts. So negative and depressing at times.
What scares most people most is the fear of more fear. Fear is our arch enemy, it's what keeps our nerves permanently jangled. If through understanding and reassurance and acceptance of our nervous symptoms for the time being we can free ourselves from fear then our eventual recovery is assured.
Loss of Control
I have anxiety always about my heart. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and suffer a lot of pain and digestive problems and any pain near my chest is a heart attack starting because they have never found out what causes my digestive problems so get so much discomfort in upper stomach which goes into the chest
fear of the physical and mental collapse and permanent handicap.
