Citalopram for post MI

My GP would like me to go on a low dose (0.5) Citalopram for my post Heart Attack and Stents insertion about 1.5 years ago.

I am very hesitant to take them due to the side effects.

Can anyone comment on the use of this drug/

Hi I am on 20mg of Citalopram to reduce anxiety. At first they made me feel worse but after 5 weeks they are definitely working. I feel so much more able to cope with everyday problems and have not had an attack for the last 4 weeks. Hope this helps.
