Diazepam otherwise known as valium is one of the most wonderful meds to bless humankind. It brings immediate relief from anxiety (no waiting 4 weeks fir it to kick in), it has no side effects and when the time comes to come off it you simply gradually reduce the dosage over a couple of weeks.

The medics say you shouldn't stay on it as a 3 times a day medication for more than 8 weeks but in the 1970s I took it daily fir 18 months without ill effects before coming off it in the way described.

Or you can take it just as and when you need it ie having a panic attack.

However like all medications it won't cure you of anxiety just give you respite. To recover from anxiety without medications you have to look to talking therapies or good self help books written by people who know what they're talking about.

Hi I take diazepam for anxiety ( when needed) brilliant at calming the symptoms of severe anxiety as jeff1943 if used sensibly they really do help .when I'm having a really bad day I take them half tablet in morning half afternoon half bedtime I have 2 mg tablets.I take for 2 days and this settles everything down.I can then goes 4 or 5 days without needing to take another.but if you take them every day for say 6 weeks or more you have to reduce them over few weeks.

If I have to "go outside" I take a 5mg diazepam approx 20minutes before hand, one thing I feel I have to say is that Diazepam is easy to get addicted to and can have mild to severe side effects just like all medications! It depends on the person , I have always tried to point out that medication affects different people in different ways ,what works for one may not work for another !

I use 2mg diazepam for anxiety, normally one tablet can ease the anxiety but occasionally may need to take 2 over a period of a day, my anxiety/panic attacks are health related and can last for one or two days, my GP gives me 20 tablets and I try to make them last for at least 6 weeks. I have just bought some cbd oil to try, its expensive but got 10ml for £9.99 from Holland and Barrett (on sale at the moment normally £19.99) it tastes horrible, which is a good thing, you just use three drops under the tongue.
