Light & Dark .
You are not the only one BetterDays14 that has Anxiety get very calm at night. There is a peacefulness for some as the day is almost gone, our bodies get sleepy and adrenaline levels are low. With that comes the quiet of night with lights being off and darkness giving us less stimulation to our brain. I enjoy a cool bedroom, no lights and only the sound is my tape playing taking me into meditation and deep breathing. x
I love the evenings. It is as if I am excused from all the worries. I know I have a long way to go as all the burdens come crashing down upon me in the morning when all my plans seem impossible.
Hummm, would you prefer to have soft lights on somewhere near you when you lie down? Your emoji confused me a bit as it is a sad face when you write the lights have to be off. Agora1 mentioned our adrenaline level goes down and our body chemistry prepares for night .
I don't want to go to bed because it is the calmest part of my day, and sometimes I don't for an extra hour or so. But I think for me, that is due the extra adrenaline I still have that feeds my nightmares; while I'm so much calmer, I won't sleep yet. But know when to give up this tiny part of the luxury of the day and take my prazosin which reduces adrenaline and the number of nightmares I have. And hope I don't run into too many pieces of furniture feeling my way to the bedroom.
