Hello all! I hope youโre all okay and having a wonderful day! ๐
Iโve been told by the doctor I canโt go back to work, I fell and hit my head on Monday and Iโve had concussion ever since ๐ feel really sick and low in energy ๐ theyโve booked me in for an ECG and bloods to see what caused me to fall. My anxiety is through the roof because of it so that probably isnโt helping the healing process ๐ sorry to be a downer, I needed to vent to someone!
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!

Sorry to hear about your fall. Iโve had 4 concussions. Itโs crazy how bad they can make you feel. Getting rest and avoiding bright light seemed to help me with the effects of the concussion.
Thank you SpeaktheTruth. It is definitely crazy! Iโve never had one before and I never wish to have one again. Yes Iโm trying to avoid the light as much as I can and drinking plenty of water ๐
Cs131193, I'm sorry about your fall. I'm glad you turned to us, we are always here for each other. One step at a time will get you through this. Keeping you in my thoughts and wishing you well. Hugs x Agora
Really sorry you hit your head when you fell. As you did not write about why you fell, I'm assuming it was just one of those things that people do sometimes. Glad to see a follow-up test is being done to rule out anything physically at issue.
Wanted to let you know, If you had a concussion, you may not be permitted to drive for at least a few weeks in the US for safety reasons, particularly if the doctors can't determine what caused the fall and concussion.
I fall sometimes and know why. But the times a concussion accompanied the fall, the neurologist sent me a letter reminding me of the restriction on driving. Really sorry you are feeling so badly today, but didn't want you to drive when you were feeling better, and hadn't discussed this with your doctor. Hope you are feeling better each day. x
Thank you HearYou ๐ yes I think the same rule applies in the UK too ๐ luckily Iโm only on provisional license (learners permit) so I canโt drive anyway and my partner has my car. Thank you for the well wishes ๐ x
Anytime, you're welcome. I didn't know about the restrictions until it happened to me. With luck, I could have driven without knowing the restrictions and nothing happen.....or someone would have hit me, and I still could have been held responsible as "I wasn't all there" as the excuse for the guilty driver.
Not a lot of people do, they donโt make the rules clear enough sometimes ๐ Iโm doing a bit better, still got a bit of fuzziness but itโll pass. How are you? X
Am ok, thank you for asking. Glad you're doing a little better. I know how weird and "unwell" I felt in a hospital after I had a concussion and were trying to figure out why I fell. Everyone is probably telling you to take it easy,so I won't do that. lol
Itโs amazing how weird you do feel, and how confused you get over the slightest thing. Haha everyone except my partners parents, theyโre telling me to just get on with it and that it was only a little bump to the head but I think Iโll trust my doctor ๐
Thank you mattmorris ๐ itโs tough to relax, I keep thinking Iโm going to lose my job because Iโve only been there for 5 months and Iโve had 3 weeks off already due to sickness and canโt afford to lose it, also my partners family arenโt very supportive of me and judge me for things like this when they happen, thank you for your well wishes though ๐ x
My son had several concussions as a child. They make you feel very tired and for a mild to moderate concussion this can last for several weeks - just vegging on the couch. I also had a friend who had a serious concussion from a car accident. It took her a number of months to recover from the exhaustion. My understanding is that it takes a lot of energy for the brain to heal. You will be OK - just rest!! and good that you are getting tests.
When you are sick or hurt your body definitely uses up all of your energy to heal. When I had my wreck and traumatic injuries including head injury and coma my mom was so worried when I went home because I slept a lot. I was in a wheelchair that did not fit through our doorways with both arms, both legs and my hip and femur were broke so unless my dad carried me I had a hard time getting out of bed. So I was in bed not doing anything but I could not stay awake. That is what the doctors told her. Then I learned it working in the hospital. Iโve always been a fighter and rushed my healing and pushed myself way too hard. I now am on disability with permanent damage. Give yourself some time to heal. Rest and donโt overdo.
Iโm so sorry to hear about what you had to go through, must have been so tough on you all ๐ I hope youโre feeling a lot better now and continue to make steps towards a full recovery ๐
