So first off I never would imagine I would ever be in an anxiety group because I’ve never had these types of problems. Three months ago I started experiencing out of body feelings/vertigo, heightened sense of reality, overall sick feelings and after suffereing for a least a month with no diagnosis I was told I had Vestibular Labrynthitis . It’s an inner ear disorder so on the outside you look fine but you feel terrible. It’s now been three months and although I don’t have all the same symptoms , I still can’t shake the fact that this happened. I’ve felt unlike myself for so long that I don’t even remember what it’s like to feel normal and I think that’s what’s causing my anxiety. Also the fact that I went so long without a diagnosis and that there’s really no treatment for it but time, it makes me feel like it hasn’t really went away. All day everyday I think about whether or not I feel good and it really controls my whole mood. I’ve never had a problem like this prior to getting labrynthitis and I feel like I’m a new person and I hate it. It’s also something a lot of people never heard of before so it’s so hard when people really can’t relate. I just continue to pray that it will magically disappear one day.

Labrynthitis related Anxiety
Hi Ayana.
Sometimes when things aren't diagnosed for a long time it can cause emotional distress and anxiety. It can also trigger health anxiety. I'm not saying you have that but it might be worthwhile talking to someone about how you're constantly monitoring your feelings, physically and emotionally. It may help you to understand and not fear it a little better. Just a suggestion of course. 😊
Hi Ayanna I myself had this myself in September but thankfully my doctor new what is was after he did few simple tests on me ,one of which was to walk a straight line putting one foot in front of the other (like a tightrope walker) hence I was wobbling all over the place even with my arms held out to try and balance myself.he said sit down and explained its to do with middle ear and gave me cinnarizine tablets 15 mg one 3 times a day.you can by over the counter also they are called sturgeon and are travel sickness medication.they make you really sleepy the first few days until you get used to them ,but they work wonders and stopped the heavy headed feeling and swaying feelings after first tablet.don't despair get some they will put you right within a day.I have had 3 attacks of labrynthitis over the past 20 years.the worse feeling in the world as everything around you spins when you move your head.but trust me this medication works.so do not fear getting another attack just carry these tablets around with you.and if it happens again pop a tablet you will be feeling OK within 15 mins .plus you can chew them no water required.hope this helps you.
