When I was young about 19 yrs old, I took 2 excedrin pm to help with a headache that was keeping me up. After I took them my boyfriends (at the time) sister asked if I wanted to go have a couple beers with her. I said yes. So we went and had probably 3 beers and smoked some marijuana. Suddenly I found myself "coming to" on the sisters driveway. I had fainted/passed out but was somewhat aware of doing it. Now I am 32 and have been completely sober for a long time.
Out of nowhere I remembered that night and it gave me a major panic attack. I was/am terrified of "coming to" or fainting/passing out again. Is it possible for it to happen again even though I am totally sober?

I'm sorry some of your memories do that, mine do too. If you haven't had one since you were 19, I really wouldn't worry about fainting/passing out. It's just a memory feeling and as long as you remember the feeling you can except it and let it pass. I know easier said than done but it isn't there to harm you.
Sorry you've had this happen. Anxiety lingers in all of us. Just a matter of hitting a trigger. Like in your case it was simply a memory. ( 13 years later and the thought of it triggered it. Had you been thinking of trees, flowers, eating breakfast or almost anything else you wouldn't have experienced it!) I guess my point is the brain is powerful. Physically you are perfectly fine, but allowing yourself to revisit that moment got you upset. If you went that long then you can go another 13 years! Sorry for rambling 😬
Thank you for your reply! I agree the brain is so powerful! It just threw me that a memory could trigger these feelings. It happens a lot so I dont know why I was so shocked lol
