My hair keeps falling out?
Honey you need to first change your username, you don't want to be reminded of that awful disease every time you write something here. Get that word away from you and as far as possible. I was watching this self help coach one time and she was saying, "don't ever associate yourself with any illness" for example I have arthritis but I should never say my arthritis, I shouldn't own it and I used to do that all the time without being aware of it. I don't do that anymore and I try to not talk about whats wrong with me unless it comes up. There's a belief that what you say, what comes out of your mouth will come back and happen so you need to stop fixating on that awful disease. If you want to be sure you don't have it, you need to get yourself checked by professionals. You need to stop doing what most of us find ourselves doing and that's fixating on what crap disease we might have. Honestly I have stuff going on with me, you can read my other posts and most of it is due to anxiety and my fears. I do have arthritis and I deal with it, I've managed to make myself so much better than I was when it first hit me but it's something a professional told me I had and I took care of it and still take care of it the best way possible. My point is it's your decision on how you want to live your life but what your doing to yourself is destroying who you are. Start by small steps, first change your username, that's just my opinion and you don't have to listen to me but I really want you to feel better. About the hair loss, theres an app its called Think Dirty and what it does is it scans health care products like shampoo and stuff like that and it tells you how toxic they are from a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst. You would be surprised how many toxins are in these products even the so called natural ones so maybe you need to change your shampoo. The toxins in these products are sometimes banned in other countries because they're so bad but not banned in the U.S. so its worth downloading and trying it. Good luck with everything, hope you feel better
Hi Unhappy23, It's like we are shedding our coat like a dog does preparing for winter except this is happening year round. I too have long, thick hair and noticed ever since anxiety became my middle name, my comb always has loose hairs in it. The doctor told me that "stress" does this. Even so, as Tina22 stated, shampoos have a lot of harsh chemicals. I make sure I buy good quality shampoo that are free of harsh chemicals.
there are a lot of conditions that can cause hair loss including and iron based anaemia, B12 deficiency, folate deficiency, thyroid. Ask your GP to run some tests.
These are much more likely explanations than cancer (where the loss of hair is generally associated with the effects of things like chemotherapy anyway) They are also easily treatable.
Hi Unhappy23. Low ferritin levels can cause hair loss and if you are starting iron deficiency tabs that may be the cause? Ask your gp if you have had ferritin levels tested. If you have and can get the ranges, you can put them on here and people might help with supplementation.
