Citalopram

Hi I am only on day 2 of taking citalopram and I have hardly slept in those days😩I feel so tired but just can't sleep when I go to bed, also get hot flushes and feel nauseous has anyone else experienced this?and how long does it last?

I had the same experience with a few meds. It's so frustrating when you're tired all day then csnt sleep at night, like how does that even work? Lol. Keeping my anxiety in control really helped keep the symptoms at bay, for me the worst of it was over after about a week and a halg but the symptoms will still come and go mildly for a while. If the med starts working for you it's really worth it so hang in there!

Thankyou it's just so hard I was so tired last night around 9 so went to bed but didn't sleep hardly slept in 2days and just feel so exhausted but still got to carry on and try and get through it I thought if I took it at night it would be better as I took it in the morning but felt so nauseous at night I just want to sleep😩

I also have lorazepam which helped me fall asleep so if something like that is an option for you I'd recommend it

hi I gave them a month or so on the strongest dose.i was feeling like neil Armstrong floating like feelings.sweaty and dizzy.all of us are different mind you.if after a month and nothing changes consult your doctor again.

I'm only on 10mg and just more concerned about the not sleeping had about 2hours in 2days😩Anyone else had insomnia whilst on these?and how long for?

I do. I am taking 30 mg of citalopram and it did cause insomnia. I have been taking .25 mg of Ativan for sleep and it really helps. I may try to transition to melatonin or Tylenol on but for now I am just happy to sleep.
