Propranolol

Hello there I've been using propranolol 40mg 3 times a day for anxiety, to be totally honest I've not found this helpful apart from helping me sleep for short periods, has anyone got any ideas as to why they are not helping my anxiety disorder! !

Hi Helena1965, Propranolol is basically used for high blood pressure. It was found to work for some who have anxiety disorder as well. It tends to lower the blood pressure making you feel very tired and dragged out. It may not be the right drug for you since your dose is high enough.

Set up another consultation with your doctor. He may choose to put you on a different medication that works more directly with reducing the anxiety symptoms. Keep us updated. Not every drug works the same for everyone. Wish you well. x

Hi thank you for your insight I'll do that as am so tried of being tried due to the medication xx
