Is it possible to hyperventilate all day? I literally haven't been able to get a breath in all day.. I have already been to the doctors about my heart and they told me everything is normal. So is this just panic or what? I have even felt dizzy today as a result of the way I am trying so hard to breath. I'm scared.
Hyperventilation all day?: Is it possible to... - Anxiety Support
Hyperventilation all day?
That sounds like anxiety! Sometimes anxiety will give us symptoms. Try to take some deep breaths slowly and definitely drink some water if you're feeling dizzy, you're probably just anxious and that's what's causing it. I'm sorry you're feeling that! Hang in there, you will get through it!
Hi carrieprice1998, It is anxiety. You are so fearful that it keeps the adrenaline on high. The key here is that "you are trying so hard to breathe". We don't need to try, breathing comes automatically if we allow it. It is very possible to hyperventilate all day if your focus is only on each and every breath you take or try to take. You feel dizzy because you are not allowing enough oxygen to get to your brain. You can even feel tingly in your extremities due to shallow breathing. None of which is life threatening.
You need to find a quiet place so you can calm down your thoughts mentally and physically. When in a constant state of fear as you are, it is better to listen to someone else talking you through proper relaxation and deep breathing. My advice which I use myself, is to go to YouTube and type in Audio Meditation/Deep Breathing A 5-10 minute version will be enough to change your shallow breathing to a more therapeutic form of breathing. Relax and listen to each and every word the video says. Let you thoughts escape for a while to this serene place shown on the video. As you calm your thoughts, your fears will calm and you will be able to go on with your day or evening.
Take care, you are safe, you are not alone x
It sure is possible. I lived that way for months!
The breathing issue is how I know when my anxiety is going up now, it's my worst symptom.
It's not so much hyperventilating as it is focusing on your breathing. You just throw your bodies natural rhythm out of wack.
Try exercising. It's strange, but when you're huffing and puffing it's hard to focus on your breath because your body just takes over as your mind and body are syncing up down to the exercise.
Plus, the exercise releases endorphins to help you relax, and it helps you see that you can actually breathe.
Anxiety is a tricky thing! Don't let it trick you into thinking you're not ok!
how are you doing today? what ever happened a few days ago. Did it all just go away.
