I came across this method, but I'm a bit weary of methods. Can anyone tell me what this method is? What do you have to do?

Hi sterre, I had never heard of this method before so did a little homework on it. It seems from what I read it has to do with being addicted to anxiety just as a drug addict is. One panic attack prompts another one and you are hooked. You become addicted to anxiety and according to the Magic of the Method you only have to kick the addiction and you will be anxiety free.

Of course I'm sure there is a lot behind the study but that's the basis of this theory,. However, it seems to me either way you have to still work on overcoming your fear or addiction by acceptance that it is anxiety. I think the word Magic stands out in the method. There is nothing out there that is magical in ridding yourself of anxiety. It take work, patience, knowledge of how the body/mind work and acceptance. Acceptance is taught by Dr. Claire Weekes, which is a great book to read or CD to listen to. Maybe there are others on the forum who can add to the AGHY Magic Method. The idea is finding what works for you since we all respond differently. Good Luck x

Thank you Agora, for taking the time and effort to find out about the method and to reply to me.

I have read the website as well, but I was wondering if anyone had done the method and could tell me more about how it works and what you have to do. It doesn't seem very popular, I couldn't find any reviews.

Thanks again.

sterre, I always am open to learning about new methods in reducing anxiety. Nothing is ever really 100% but any reduction in helping us go forward is welcomed. If you ever do try that method, let us know. I'd be interested in how it worked for you or anyone else x
