Feeling like pass out

Every time I'm in public, store, buildings or even in a middle line on a high traffic I feel like passing out.

It's been two weeks now since this has started. Any help ?

Hi Diffaz, It sounds like Agoraphobia, a fear of the open market.. I had it myself for awhile. The fear is a trick of the mind doing this to us. Making us believe we are in danger when out away from our home. What happens when we find ourselves in this situation is that we start to hyperventilate from the fear. The adrenaline starts to rise and causes even more fear. Before we know it, we feel as if we are losing control and might pass out.

Practicing deep breathing at home each day will help when you do go outside. When you deep breathe it helps both your mind and your body. You cannot be fearful and be deep breathing at the same time. Deep breathing will win each time. It takes practice to get to the point where it comes on automatically whenever stressed. I use it throughout my waking hours, even while typing on the computer, watching tv, cooking dinner etc..

You'll be okay. continue coming to the forum for other ideas from the group. Breathe x

By the way, is it good to play any sport? Cuz I play soccer. I don't want this to happen while I'm in the middle of a game

Exercise of any kind is good to reduce the adrenaline as well as for your mind. Just make sure you hydrate after the game.

Diffaz, I can understand. have you tried having therapy? Short of taking medication sometimes CBT can help. That takes some time to take effect needing hard work and determination.

Keep working on that fear. What has helped me in the past is if I have an appointment at a new place, I take a trial run a couple days before so that the day I go, it is more familiar and not as threatening.

Maybe going to the airport ahead of time might help reduce the stress. Keep using the forum for support. There are many who have that same fear. Take it easy.

I think agora nailed it. I too have went through this in phases, The meditating and sleep really helped me. Also just not thinking about it. If yours is bad grab a cart so you can have something to help grab yourself even though its mental and remember why you are there. Keeping a one track mind really helps. Also I sat at starbucks and the mall a couple times just to people watch that really helped. The exercise is a must! I say that was my biggest benifit with the sleep as well. Take small steps and focus on what you want to conquer. I

Diffaz, i do have questions of your diagnosis. Have you been to a doctor, self diagnosis, do you check your blood pressure and heart rate after these episodes? Age and previous issues? There could be a underlying reason if this just started 2 weeks ago with no post stress or it could be medication related? I would never want to self diagnose based on what we are saying. To have agoraphobia would be a nasty portion of anxiety if that's the case. Don't think it will be easy to overcome just remember to take it one day or hour at time.

I haven't been to the doctor for about 6 months now since I've lost my coverage. I'm planning on going as soon as I get one, thanks.
