Ativan

I am trying to get off Busphar ( don't think it's doing too much for my anxiety) but my anxiety is through the roof. Just started Prozac, no effects yet. I have Ativan and I am really thinking of trying. Can anybody offer some advice about effectiveness and dosage protocol? I just want to take it until my anxiety is a little more under control ( right now I want to crawl out of my skin at all times).

I've taken it. Helped me relax and get some sleep. Was on the lowest dose prescribed.

From what I know, it’s a benzo similar to Xanax and Valium. Compared to Xanax seems it is half the strength. So 1mg of Ativan will equal 0.5mg of Xanax. All our bodies react differently but, it is a sedative and may help. Though generally Xanax seems to be considered the “big daddy” for anxiety. They are all habit forming and if taken for a long period of time stop working or the dose needs to be increased. Personally I have been on both and lean toward the big daddy.
