Hi,

I'm 17 and I'm having some issues with my wrong time of the month. I really don't want to tell anyone because is embarrassing. I be always had an irregular cycle and I haven't had a period since November. I had a couple of days where I was bleeding in February but it's really worrying me. I have anxiety which doesn't help at all. Please help me!!

Thanks 😊

Hello

I know we can feel embarrassed but believe me nothing is embarrassing what you have said and this happens to many but it would be wise to talk to your Doctor just to get the thumbs up :-)

Can you talk with your Mum , Sister maybe , Aunty , friend someone that can come with you and support you :-)

I bet it will be all or nothing as if this is usual for you from what you have said in your post but a quick check and you will have peace of mind :-)

Just a couple of things and you don't have to answer but are you taking any kind of contraception because this can mess things about a bit but your Doctor would soon sort that out and of course the question even your Doctor would ask there is no chance of you been pregnant

Let us know how you get on :-)

Take Care x

Thankyou for your reply,

No I'm not on any contraception and I'm definitely not pregnant. I've spoke to my mum about my anxiety and we went to the doctors recently. I just don't know whether this is a cause of my anxiety or whether this is a problem that is making my anxiety worse. It's just so stressful. πŸ˜ͺ x

Anxiety can make your periods irregular so it could very well be the cause and like you have said the more you worry the more your body reacts , but I think the best thing is to talk with your Doctor because that little bit of reassurance can make such a huge difference :-)

Also remember your Mum loves you very much and I am sure if she thought for one minute that anything was seriously the matter she would have you to the Docs asp but she hasn't :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x

You poor thing. I know it's hard to talk about things like this sometimes. I'm sure you're just fine. Are you having cramps or pain in your abdomen? It really takes several years to develop into a rhythm after it starts so it most likely is your body still continuing to develop and get hormones balanced. You can speak with your school nurse for some reassurance as well.

I guess sometimes there's slight pain but like only on every occasion. And thankyou for the reassurance 😊

You are so welcome. I grew up in a very conservative family and talking to my Mom about my period or anything remotely similar was extremely difficult. It didn't help that I also lived in a tiny town in the early 90s so there was no Google either, lol.

Not getting your period can be caused by so many different things. Hormone imbalances, not eating enough or eating too much, stress, and on and on. Women are so lucky! Sending you big hugs. I promise it does get easier as you get older.
