Calm down, breath in breath out slow everything down, the answer is yes I'm affraid, it's because when it happens u overthink about it and make it worse, 
scary I know I've been there
I can relate to the body twitching. And in my experience, yes it's anxiety. It's a horrible feeling and the only thing I find helps is walking around taking deep breaths
