Hi again Mrheap, I can confirm that driving can produce sore shoulders, arms and neck. We tend to grab onto the wheel and the muscles tighten enough to produce pain and soreness. I've had it at times go up to the lower jaw from being tense. I immediately start to deep breathe to lower the adrenaline which helps in NOT going into a panic attack.
I drive a lot and yes it can give you sore shoulder/arms etc.
You are probably not sitting correctly in your car and getting bad posture, look online for the correct way to sit while you drive. Also you can look on you tube about stretches for the neck and arms etc that will help you out.
Happened to me only on Sunday! 70+ mile drive, and could barely turn my neck by the end of it - struggled to look over my shoulder when changing lanes. Not really sore but stiff, I was feeling a bit anxious at the time, so think it's just your muscles tensing without you realising.
