As soon as I feel reassured, I google and then I'm back at square one. Anybody else?

Now I mainly get stuck on reading people's stories on medical message boards.

I find it even more frustrating and scary when I read things on there that are basically the complete opposite of what the doctor has said to me!!

im the same 100%!!! I'm trying to stop myself from doing it, so i havent been doing it as much as i used to but its the odd temptation to google things only for it to cause more anxiety!

The best thing to do when you feel like googling is including the word 'anxiety' along with your symptoms in the search box, that way the results will show your symptoms in relation to anxiety rather than diseases and you can feel assured that anxiety can cause the symptoms. I hope that made sense.

It does make sense, thank you! Although, my biggest fear is heart disease/heart attack and I've read that those things can cause anxiety!

If you have had it checked out and given the all clear then you should be fine you would have had a heart attack by now if there was a problem. But I know how it is you can't stop the worrying every anxiety sufferer has their main health worry and heart fears are the most common. You'll be ok :)

I've stopped also. Majority of my symptoms aren't even on Google. I've just learn to deal.

Its hard but i did stop googling about symptoms, especially heart related. It did me no good and only made me worry more. I talk to my doctor instead. I find another activity to do so that i am not idle with worry.
