Chanz5, it's one of the common causes of anxiety, heart palps being number one. Feeling like you are not breathing properly is because you properly aren't. When we are anxious, the muscles are tighter and we breathe more shallow and rapid. We might not even realize it until we do start to experience a tight diaphragmatic feeling in the upper stomach. Along with that comes that lightheaded feeling making us feel we might pass out and yet don't. The thing is we need to learn to calm our breathing down. No need to force trying to get that full breath. It will come automatically as soon as we start to relax. In order for that to happen, we need to practice our relaxation and deep breathing everyday until it becomes a part of us. When you are able to do this, should the "not breathing properly" appear, you will be better able to accept it and go on without fear. You'll be okay.
I'm feeling like that right now. When I'm having a bout of anxiety, it's worse. It's so hard to breathe deeply, but I try my best to.
