Hi All - I am hoping this site helps with my anxiety and how to cope.
I feel my anxiety just'turn on' like a switch and it brings me down as there is nothing i can do about it.
I know I have SAD which does not help but i feel myself getting down and my worries seem to get worse.
Any tips/help would be really appreciated
x

Hi vcj
When I first joined this site (just a few days ago) I spent some time clicking on lots of different replies people had sent in answer to the many sufferers, its helped me so much and its provided me with the much needed reassurance, its a great place to express your feelings without being judged, we're all experiencing the same kind of illness and there's a great understanding here too, as for tips. if you read through the replies and conversations you soon pick up tips and ideas, you can share your fears/anxieties etc too, different things work for different people, I personally believe that acceptance is a great healer, accepting the sensations and symptoms and allowing them to come and go is difficult but I find it helps, you will need to practice and don't feel disheartened if you struggle at first, just hang in there xx
thanks for your reply, I hate feeling so anxious esp when its over things I can do nothing about, my anxiety is over non ironising raditation so things like mobile phones and wifi ....of course the world is filled with this now so its not helping me at all x
Sorry to hear your struggling with things, anxiety has got to be one of the worsed feelings, its real tough at times, have you been offered any therapy to help you find ways of coping?x
i am on the waiting list for counselling, i am not on any meds desp not to be put back on those things as they didnt help before but Ineed help in coping for the sake of my family as my partner cant really handle it anymore xxx thank you so much for replying I feel so lonley at times x
I do understand, I truly do, please don't feel alone, its a fantastic site here, we can give each other support, even being able to chat to other sufferers can make a difference, it can feel like a lifetime waiting for counselling, but it will come eventually, and in the meantime you can still go see your gp, I understand that the thought of going back on medication is a daunting prospect but the advantages usually outweigh the disadvantages, there's so many different types of drugs available, it may take trying a few before you find the right one for you, speak to your gp about your options, hang in there
