incontinence & aging.

Iv`e been dealing with some bowel issues for some years now as a result of a difficult birth when I was 18. The bowel control nurse that I saw today has told me that incontinence is inevitable with aging, & that all seniors end up needing nappies at some point. I`m very upset over this because I can`t face having to wear nappies whatever age I am, I value my dignity too much. Surely medical science can offer an alternative in this day & age? I would rather have euthanasia than wear nappies! I`m really panicking at the prospect!

Hello

I am not sure why the nurse would say this to you , it s not something that is very helpful and can understand why you would find it upsetting !

Try not to think to far ahead , I know we tend to but this may not apply to you at all and you could spend the next x amount of years worrying over something that may not happen

Stay in the day and enjoy what you have now and think I will worry when and if I need to about other things that may happen later in life and remember that is a may happen not a will happen :-)

Take Care x
