Constant dizziness

Hi. For the past few days I have been feeling dizzy and lightheaded. I also get tension, we'll doc says might be migraines almost every day now. My question is though, does anyone else get dizzy even when not having a headache?

Yeah Me too, its almost constant :( definitely my worst symptom. Im pretty lightheaded too and feel like I'm gonna pass out if I walk around too much. I think it has to do more with light sensitivity and lightheadedness than vertigo for me

Yes, it doesn't feel as if it's vertigo because I don't have that spinning sensation. I wake up okay but as the day goes the dizziness starts coming on. I don't know what to do anymore, doctors can't find what it is.

Yeah it can be pretty scary. Do you ever feel like you're going to pass out but not really? like foggy? I think maybe its our neck muscles but I really have no idea. Some days are better than others for me

I get the foggy feeling a lot. I also get teary eyed for no reason, like I'll be laying down and a tear will roll down my cheek. Everything scares me now. I've had a CT scan done in March but now I wonder if they could of missed something because my symptoms are just nonstop.

Well good to know someone else is in a similar situation, I guess that means its less likely to be something serious haha. This is pretty new for me, especially feeling like I'm gonna pass out, pretty scary. but hopefully we'll get through this. let me know if you find anything that works for you and I will as well

Yes, I've only been dealing with all these anxiety Symptoms for a few months myself. But yes, I'll keep you posted.

I feel like that all the time.  I've been diagnosed with vestibular dysfunction & my physical therapy spends a lot of time on my neck, thinking it's related.  PT flares it up, which is very frightening, but it helps to know I'm working on a solution.

My doctor can't seem to find out what is causing dizziness. Although she hasn't done much testing other than blood work. And the CT scan I got done of my head was at the ER.

I had a meltdown in my ENT office, so he has ordered an MRI, which I'll have next week.

My neurologist says it's all inflammatory, but the meds don't agree with me.  He's mad about me refusing to take them so I think he's refusing to look at other options to try & bully me into doing what he wants.

It's frustrating when the doctors don't understand what we are feeling and just ride it off. Like these are real symptoms we're having. I wouldn't pretend to feel this horrible,  I actually want to enjoy my life with my kids. Glad you're getting an mri, it will help ease your mind. My doctor said if these new meds don't help thn she will send me for one.

YES! Dizziness can be the ONLY symptom of migraine...  Look up Migraine Associated Vertigo (MAV), or vestibular migraine. You don't have to have a headache to have migraine and I wish more GPs would understand this before passing everything off as anxiety etc . It can also last days, weeks or even months non stop before lifting.  It doesn't have to be the spinning sensation to be vertigo , it can also be like walking on a ferry boat.

Good luck with finding a solution to this.

I always describe my feelings as a boat!  Or wearing the wrong glasses prescription....

Have you found relief?

I had great relief for quite a few years with serc ( betahistine) which is also prescribed for Ménière's disease and then adding low dose amitriptyline to that  which is often used as a migraine preventative. Giving up caffeine was a HUGE help but you may get caffeine withdrawal. As well as other dietary stuff as I am quite a sensitive flower lol.

I read a book called heal  your headache by David Bucholtz which was  very helpful ( it doesn't matter if you don't actually have the headache it's all the same mechanism)

I've had to take a break from the amitriptyline as I was getting annoying side effects but it is often really helpful for raising the threshold at which  migraine is triggered.

At the moment it's all returned with a vengeance without the amitrip so I'm back to looking at food sensitivities but that's another story.

I'm convinced we're all capable of good health!!

yes i do , its because of the tension in  your neck , you have two larage muscles at the base of your scull , so when you tense they get all knoted up and can cause dizziness and balance problems . Anxiety plays so may trickson us , get to know your  triggers and weak spots , because you have to be able to control your fear , I hope I have helped you a little , bless you and good look on your path x

I was prescribed imitrex yesterday for my migriane and was told it also helps with the migraine symptoms but I'm here at the doctor now because my insurance doesn't cover it and it is literally 100s of dollars. So trying to get another med prescribed that I can afford.

And I actually have a lot of tension in the back of my neck too so hopefully after this my dizziness stops. I hate it.
