Anyone.?
Hi, we all are struggling to different degrees with anxiety and panic attacks. I have had anxiety for a long time but more recently came off my antianxiety medication and use deep breathing and meditation/imagery for calming my mind and body. What symptoms do you usually experience?
I have bad panic attacks out of nowhere, I've had anxiety almost my whole life but it never was this bad. No I literally feel like I might be dying, I'm at the ER like every month Bc I swear I must be dying. My legs, arms and face go numb, I can't breath or swallow, and I sometimes faint from getting so worked up. It's scary /:
Hi I see u posted u just came off anti anxiety medication? Did u have any side effects at all? My doctor tapered me from 10mg of lexapro to 5mg for 3 weeks then told me if I was still doing well then I could stop it, its been 6 days since I took it and the last 3 have been horrible, feel dizzy and anxious, was just wondering if u had side effects, how long did they last? Thank you
Hi Lilmomma, Getting off my Lexapro (15mg) is going to be my next quest, not yet though. After being left on small dose of Xanax for many years, I became dependent. From there the doctor put me on Ativan which didn't work for me and made me decide that I needed off benzos. It took little over 2 years of weaning slowly using Valium substitute (Dr Ashton's Method) until finally I was on nothing at all. That was also 2 years ago. I'm better, more clear minded, but it takes work everyday. (No different than when I was on the med) I wish you well.
I have suffered with anxiety/depression for a number of years and been on/off meds for this. However, 2 weeks ago I had a very severe anxiety attack during the night. Got emergency GP appt in the morning got prescribed diazepam (short term) and Citalopram. I thought I no tablets would help and that I would never feel better. But now 2 weeks on I'm not cured but starting to feel the benefits of Citalopram. Hang in there you will get better. X
After months of anxiety and depression finally went to doc yesterday. I know how you feel, it's a horrible thing, and so exhausting.
It's easier to shut yourself away but you have to fight. Go to the doc ASAP. He gave me one lot of meds for anxiety and another for depression. The anxiety med kicked in immediately and I could breathe well for the first time in months.
The depression med will take longer I think, but I feel more hopeful than I have for a long time.
Please go and see someone. Everyone deserves to get better and you will.
