Iam scare to take new meds one for my bp and the other for my dpression

I take meds for Blood pressure and look at it this way you should be more scared if you do not get your BP under control because over a period of time that could harm you so take them you will be fine 

It is your choice however if you want to take the Depression meds but if your Doctor has prescribed them they must thing they will help , with those you could try them and if they really dont suite you then you could stop taking them and have a word with your Doctor 

When they list side effects it is very frightening when you read them , but they have to list everything reported and it is not always a case the meds have caused whatever they have listed but while someone was taking them they happened to feel a certain thing and thought it could be the meds but who know's they may have felt what they reported even if they had not been taking them , also remember the statistics which will be 1 in so many thousands if not more and the odds are low 

Why not try Googling asking who has success stories taking these medications as we always focus on the negative one's and there are lots of positive ones to

If you have High Blood Pressure though I would seriously try taking the BP meds Doctors do not usually prescribe them till they feel they are needed

O I am pleased especially the blood pressure tablet 

I know your fear as I have a fear of meds to but like my Doctor said about my BP I was in more danger if I did not take them and got my BP down than the tablets would cause me , that soon got me taking them 

I have to say at first I felt a little bit sluggish on them as if they had slowed me down a little bit which to be honest when you have anxiety is not really a bad thing but slowly you get used to them and I don't even know I take them anymore everything just feels normal , you will be ok on them

Let us know how you get on and please try & ignore those leaflets , millions of people take these medications and if they were that unsafe they would have to take them of the market

Hi nicki,  I happen to be on both bp med and Lexapro. 

I was scared like you but the numbers were so high that I

had to do it.  I have been on it for 6 years and feel better

knowing I am protecting myself.  I hope you will give it a

chance.  As for the Lexapro (antidepressant) I have had no

side effects with that as well.  Wishing you luck.
