Does marijuana induced derealisation last forever?

I've had derealisation for 3 years, and it's been 1 year since I quit weed for good. The derealisation won't let up at all. Basically I feel like I'm high all the time. I feel like it's causing all of my anxiety. Does anyone have experience with this? Even my doctor doesn't know the answer.

My son smoked marijuana 15 years ago and since then he developed schizophrenia because of it.I dont like to alarm you but this is the facts, a lot of youngsters dont realise the consequence of that drug.

I've heard that marijuana can bring out certain types of psychosis early, but never that it can CAUSE schizophrenia. I'm so sorry that happened to your son. I hope he's coping alright now. Many people think marijuana is a "cure-all" and not dangerous at all but they're wrong.

marijuana has caused so many young people to develop psychosis which is the start of schizophrenia.Unfortunately my son who was perfectly normal has ruined his life,he has not improved and is constantly anxious and depressed besides probably more symptons

he hides from me to save me being more upset .Thanks for your concern

My understanding is the anxiety feeds the de-realisation. I can't recommend mindfulness mediation and other 'here and now' techniques enough. There's a wealth of them out there, and lots of info online. Also, really recommend doing some therapy - CBT is a good place to start, and really helpful and practical. Psychotherapy when you're ready to go a bit deeper, can be painful but useful

The longer you're off it, the more time that passes, the more you understand it, and the more new here/now/meditation skills you develop the better it gets.

GOOD LUCK, this is the beginning of a whole new way of living, and it's really exiting for you - it can be tough, and painful, but ultimately it's so rewarding and liberating.

ElReily wrote you a very good post... It is very difficult for me to believe that the marijuana is responsible for derealization that has lasted for 3 years.... I think you really need to consider what the above post says.... Please realize you CAN be helped and that you WILL get past this... It sounds like you really want to and that is half the battle! Good for you! Take care and good luck... Please consider therapy... it could provide SUCH relief to you when you get to the bottom of what it is that is causing you to escape into derealization.
