Mirtazapine.

Hi everyone so I started to take mirtazapine yesterday I am only on 15mg a day but I was previously on 40mg of fluoxetine a day. I took it at around 10pm last night but waking up this morning I'm drowsy, irritated and dizzy.

I am now currently at work because I can't take any time off but I have no idea what to do. I feel like I'm drunk everything is slightly moving and I can't concentrate. I work with computers so I do some heavy lifting sometimes but today I'm just training on the PC in the build room as I don't think I can do anything else.

Does anyone know how long this will last as I don't think I can handle it anymore or even know any tips of how to stop me feeling this way.

Thanks.

Hi I was on Fluoxetine too and changed to mirtazapine. At first I tried to do a straight swap but i experienced all the same symptoms you are having and i agree its horrible. After speaking to the doctor I slowly lowered the dose of fluoxetine whilst slowly increased the mirtazapine up to 30mg. Have you done the same or a straight swap? x

Hi, I've taken Mirtazapine for around 2.5 years. In the beginning, I had the same as you but it should only last for a few days until your body gets used to it. If you feel drowsy in the morning, try taking it a bit earlier, not just before you go to bed.

For me, it worked and got me out of a few big holes. I wonder if what you're feeling is the withdrawal of the fluoxetine and not the mirtazapine?

Stick at it and you'll get the benefit.
