19 days on citalopram
Hello tasmin68,
In time you will begin to feel better, you have only started your medication course and everyone needs time to adjust to their tablets, yes, everyone is different and every set of tablets are different.
How are you feeling?????
Essex Princess
hi princess i feel like im going mad on a morning cant stop thinking . get a racing heart and shaky.i can sleep but im sweating alot .feel better on a night .are you on any meds ? and thank you dont feel so mad now lol xxx
I am on medication (Sertraline) as I suffer from Depression. What illness do you have?? and there is no need to feel mad, I felt like that when I started my meds. you will get the hang of it don't worry xxx message me if me need be
i was on sertraline and it made me feel ill had to come off them i have anxiety. how long did it take you to feel better ?
It took me a while for me to feel 'better', when suffering with a mental illness, it's hard to feel 'better', all you can do is pretend but please confide in someone you trust so that the are aware of your illness and they can cater for you. Unfortunately I am the same at the moment with Sertraline so I completely understand. Just know you are not alone whilst you are dealing with this, I am always here
I was in citalopram 20mg for 4 months and I struggled with them physically and mentally the side effects were to much. But you need t give then atleast 6 weeks everyone's different .
Lots of luck with them x
Thank you just feel like I'm never going to get better. What med are you on now ? .x
When I started citalopram (20mg, for anxiety) back in October I actually felt worse for the first couple of weeks and then it took another couple of weeks to get back to where I was before I started taking them. During the first couple of weeks I was SO tempted to give up on it but now I'm so glad I stuck with them because at around 5 weeks I noticed the benefits starting to creep in.
What kept me going was the "Citalopram Survival Guide" (link below) and one of the comments in that that says something like 'If you're not prepared to stick with it for at least 8 weeks then you may well miss out on the benefits of this medication'.
I actually kept a record of my anxiety levels through the days, hour by hour, giving a number from 1 to 6 - This helped me see the improvement when it started to come through. My doc increased my dose to 30mg after a couple of months and this seems an appropriate dosage for me.
Good luck, and I hope it will be helpful to you in the end.
