Coming off Mirtazapine

I have been on 15mg mirtazapine for just over 2 years. Over the last few months I have extreme tiredness and wake up overtired with eyes that look like I have slept in weeks!

I spoke to GP to try and come off them and she suggested half dose and gradually ween off. I alternating between 15mg and 7.5mg every other night for the last 2 weeks and still feel 'drugged' in the mornings. Is the lower dose just as sedating as the 15mg?

I'm wondering if I am confusing my body too much in alternating ?

Any ideas please ??.
