Hello John

I get this to , sometimes when I sneeze I notice them more

Also I suffer with bad headaches & have the same fear when I do

I had my eyes tested & asked if it was true that an optician can pick up if anything was wrong like a Brain tumour & she said yes we can & told me everything looked healthy though just the same as you have been told , so I would say that was a good positive reply we both had :-)

Have you seen your GP & expressed your concerns , if not then you could always ask to help reassure you

Remember as well the more we worry the more headaches we will create & try when you feel this fear to remember the optician telling you that everything looks healthy & try & focus on those positive words x

From what Ive studied.

Everyone gets these sometimes it's just one eye or both.

And it's only Dr visit worthy if it's rainbow colored or you see flashes of light.

Flashes of light are often caused by retinal tears. Not serious and are fixed with a short, two minute laser surgery. Ive had this done and it is no pain, other than slight discomfort because of a bright light.

Yes! Oh absolutely lol. My anxiety gives me visual stuff all the time! My most common is seeing the occasional bright star...it reminds me of seeing a star from the night sky. I began having blurry vision so badly off and on that I feared I was going blind (had a blind scare on my 27th birthday 2 yrs ago but it ended up being nothing) so I went to the eye dr and he told me my eyes had actually improved!! That I had perfect vision! So yeah, my fears there were totally debunked. I realized then that it was anxiety. No worries dear. If the dr said your eyes are healthy, there is nothing to worry about. And if they thought it was a brain issue, they would have told you so as well.

I had floaters even without stress. Floaters are caused by pieces of mucus floating behind the eye. They are not serious and NO symptom of a tumor. They are very common and usually rectified (optionally) by surgery, like LASIK. It is maybe a ten minute procedure with no pain, I hear. But again, that isnt something anyone has to get.

Stress can definitely aggrivate floaters. I used to focus on mine all the time and once I stopped, I began to rarely notice them. They do decrease when stress decreases and are absolutely no cause for concern.

I repeat, no cause for concern. :)

I have had floaters for years. When I first got them I was terrified until I finally broke down and went to the doctor and they told me what they were. A few weeks ago I started noticing many more floaters and was really freaked out. I went to the eye doctor and they gave me all kinds of tests and everything is healthy.... try not to worry... your doctor has told you you are okay... please try to believe that.
