Can someone tell me why it always feel like you're going to die or pass out? I guess things wouldn't be as bad if we didn't get those particular feelings. Your thoughts please?

Scary Feelings
Adrenalin. It's your body's way of dealing with fear.
It could be your bodys coping mechinism. Sort of like when a child holds their breath to freak out their parents... They will lose conciousness before they do damage. Once they pass out their body will start breathing again.
You could be so fearful of dieing that your body starts to pass out, then you stop focusing on dieing long enough to stay concious.
Just a thought.
Hi Hottip,
I never thought of that. That's a good point. Blessings to you!
Hi,
I black out due to panic/anxiety. My psychologist says this is not possible due to the adrenaline. My doctor and myself think it is due to panic/anxiety. Do you know where I can get any inform on this? I think my brain just shuts down when it has had enough.
Kind regards
I disagree with your psychologist. However, I don't have the education he/she does. But, your body has many ways to cope with things. Your vagus nerve connects your abdomen to brain. It is possible for this nerve to cause one to faint or black out, sometimes by just straining during a bowel movement or digestive issues. While you may be wondering why I brought that into my comment, it is just to demonstrate an example of your bodies coping mechanisms. So, it doesn't seem logical to say your fight or flight reaction to panic couldn't cause you to black out. I think of it as a overload and your body needs to reboot. Sort of like it's saying to your brain, shut up for a minute, I got this. FYI, you can find information about the vagus nerve in many places. Here is a link to Wiki en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vagus...
I don't reccomend anyone do a general search on the internet because if; like myself; reading the symptoms you start seeing them pop up in your life.
I hope this helps
All part of the territory, what you need to remember you are suffering anxiety and this makes you sensitised to worry. Believe me we all sometimes feel a little strange and the best way out of that is take a deep breath and understand you are not on your way out it is just your Anxiety.
Remember you know when these feelings come on and you need to recognise the fact and understand nothing is going to happen. One way of looking at it if you get the feeling you are going to die, eventually you will not remember if you do die as there is nothing you can do if it does happen at that time.
If you have not been to see your GP do so, tests can be done to put your mind at rest. In the past I would sometimes get those feeling and they fell away as I got older. Now I am in my sixties and suprise, suprise I am still here. I THINK, LOL
BOB
LOL! Thank you Bob, you put a smile on my face! Thank you!
