Is anyone on medication? Which anxiety medication works best? I have fear of dying all the time, my mind races and im scared to take medication but I know I need some.

Hi Megs sorry to read you're suffering. I've been on citalopram these last couple of months. I took sertraline for a couple of months before that but it didn't agree with me. These are both antidepressants. My doctor wouldn't give me tranquillisers of any sort as they are so addictive and are only given when absolutely necessary. Citalopram eases my anxiety but doesn't get rid of it entirely,but it helps me to stop fretting so much. Like you I'd rather not be on them,but as someone said, if I had a bad leg I'd take medication to help it mend. Chat with your doctor and work out whats best for you. Good luck Sam x

Hey megs anxiety is a Horribal thing i have a fear of dying i was having panic attacks all the time i was put on beta blockers which slow your heart down they helped a lot i was on antidepressants which didn't work with me it all depends on which one suit you best have a chat with your doctor they will help you decide which is best good luck x

I think any doctor will help or your doctor would be best
