Does anyone here have an addiction to prescription drugs? I have been addicted to Zopiclone for 8 years now. My doctor won't give me anymore so I have to buy them off the Internet.. I have tried to come off them so many times but the withdrawal is so bad I have to take them. I have started taking them during the day just to have some relief from the physical and pysological horific withdrawals I experience . My partner said we could get married if I come off them and my partner gets really frustrated and angry with me because she has no idea how bad it is to come off them. I suffer from anxiety and depression and I find if I take a couple if zopiclone it takes the anxiety away. If I don't take any or if I have run out of them I throw up all day and have really bad dioreahea and can't leave the house.... It's taking over my life, my friends and partner whom I love very much..

From reading your post you know you are addicted to this medication which is the first step
But your Doctor must have known these can be addictive & that is why they have refused to give you any more
Drugs like this can be very helpful short term but long term not so good as you are experiencing
I also feel concerned that you are buying them else where , please be careful as you never know what you could be buying & I don't say that to make you feel more anxious but out of concern
Personally I would go back to my Doctor & be honest , tell them that you are addicted & that you have been buying them & you need help to come of them explain you cannot cope just by stopping them all together but need weaning of them & doing this with the support of your Doctor is the safest way & you can get over this addiction & then move forward with dealing with your anxiety issues , bearing in mind with any addiction you will have to experience some withdrawal symptoms but these will pass & the benefits of been free & getting your life back will outweigh this , take it a day at a time
I really hope you go & ask for help & yes this can be a common problem but one that can solved with the right support

I am glad I came across the post & really hope elphie will get the support they need , I spend a lot of time on HU but on Living with Anxiety which is another support group on here for anxiety sufferers but I do try & have a look on here when I can

elphie, listen to whywhy's advice. Especially about getting pills on the internet. You don't know what they are or could be expired. Speak to someone who deals with addiction.
You can beat it. But it won't be easy.
You can do it, you have someone who loves you and will be there for you. Good luck.
