Hi Elyse10,

When you say funny head feeling do you mean like there are waves inside your head, like it is swaying inside? Like your about to get dizzy? I get that too and this is what keeping me in the cycle of anxiety. I hope somebody could tell how to overcome them? Help.

I get this too. Did you ever find out what it was? It's so odd ):

This is the first time anyone has ever almost accurately described it, did you find out what caused it?

Hi jazzyHoping,

It feel like there is a tight band around my head, it comes and goes all day, feels like my brain is floating... I was starting to feel a lot better but the last couple of weeks it's getting bad again... It's so frustrating and annoying, I keep thinking there is something wrong with me :(((

As I am typing this I have the same funny head feeling. I can't quite describe it but it is all what Elyse10 and JazzyHoping describe. I'm not driving at the moment becuase of it, I feel distanced from those around me because I feel like I'm not myself, can't engage properly and could pass out at any minute. This is putting a lot of strain on me and my family life.

I haven't been told I have anxiety, not yet anyway, but I think with all the tests and doctors I've visited and everything coming up as "normal" I'm sure it won't be long before they say it's all in my head!

This is truly horrible. How do you cope and how do you know for sure anxiety is what it is?

Hi, I notice that this post was a year ago, but I'm wondering if you were still experiencing this horrible feeling that I'm experiencing as well? It's been almost 1 month of the constant weird feeling in my head. I do have a history of anxiety but I'm not sure if it's that. I had a CT of my brain done which came back normal but I'm afraid something is really wrong. Please let me know how you're doing.

Thanks

Hi

Well after many investigations and seeing all sorts of doctors they have diagnosed me with Migraine Associated Dizziness - look this up, I got a great deal of comfort from reading the symptoms as it fit mine perfectly - I didn't get headaches I just got the auras of the Migraine. So little is known about this condition and it all seems to focus on the headache part but personally the woozy, weird feeling is far, far worse!

As my symptoms were daily I was put on a daily dose of Pizotifen that is for Migraines and there was a slight improvement but not much of one but I also put on 2 stone in 6 months with it, this is the main side effect of this drug. I was overweight already and now I am obese on top of everything else!

My feeling is that a lot of my problems would be solved losing weight not gaining it so I spoke to my consultant and I was taken off it and am now slowly but surely losing the weight. I am not on any medication at the moment.

Part of the diagnosis was having to do exercises to get my brain and eyes "talking" to each other again as there seems to be a disconnect between the two and these do seem to have helped me.

I have changed a lot of things in my life - I had to do a diary of my symptoms noting what I was eating, my monthly cycle, where I was (shopping centre/outdoors/watching TV etc.) I started drinking decaf coffee, I got the fluorescent lights in my office removed, I started taking more regular breaks from my PC during the day, go for brisk walks at lunchtime to get away from the office environment, limit my cheese intake, I noticed I often get worse the week before my period and that I am far better when I am away from the office but it usually takes 2-3 days away before I feel back to my old self. Obviously I need to work and drive so now when I start to feel weird, I recognise it for what it is, I don't panic, I just take it easy, have a break and it eventually passes. From being daily, it has gone to once or twice a week to once a month and hopefully it will disappear entirely - sometimes it does and no one knows why.

I feel calmer in myself now and a year on things have improved drastically from where I was. I think it is just having a diagnosis that has eased my mind. That I am not dying, that I am OK.

Perhaps ask your GP to see an ENT specialist who will check your ears to see if anything is off balance - this is where I started and they then referred me to see an eye specialist because of the visual disturbances I get and also to a neurologist for the face tingles and woozy feeling, who confirmed the Migraine diagnosis. My last appointment with the ENT consultant is the end of this month and I hope she will release me as I have improved so much.

I know how horrible this feeling is - the only way I could describe it was that I felt a bit tipsy, like I had too much to drink.

So that is my story.

Good luck and let me know how you get on.

Thank you so much for your reply! I'm very happy to know that you're doing better, it gives me hope :). Well, I still have the weird head feeling which to be honest, it's really the main thing that scares and concerns me. I may feel a bit off balance at times but not as much as before. I am able to sleep better some nights which before, in the beginning of all of this, I wasn't sleeping at all which made things worse. I saw ENT last week and they checked my hearing because I've been experiencing tinnitus as well, and of course that came back with my heading being better than average. They also checked my sinuses with the otoscope and that looked normal as well. They decided to give me steroids for my complaints, but I'm very antidrug and I knew that it wouldn't take away the feeling so I didn't take it. When I went to the ER in the beginning of this month, they gave me a steroid through IV that didn't touch this feeling in my head. They were treating, "head pain" which I'm not feeling. It's more like a hangover feeling but thet didn't seem to understand. They did however diagnosed me with "tension headache." Im still not sure if that's what this is.....

All I know is that I want to feel normal again. I'm a full time Medical Assistant, a Nursing student and married with three kids. It's been hard to focus that I'm thinking I may have to take a break from either work or school. I've been doing this for so long that maybe it is from stress and anxiety in my life that has brought these constant non-stop "tension headaches." I have an appointment with Neurology in Oct. and I cannot wait to hear what she has to say about all of this. She specializes in headaches so I'm praying that she knows what's going on with me. Better yet, I pray that all this will be gone by the time my appointment gets here. Once again, I'm truly happy to hear that you're better, and I appreciate your reply. Hope to hear back from you. Have a wonderful weekend!

I know your post was nine months ago, but I am going through the same things. My doctor said my eyes and brain wasn't working together, and since I have a history of migranes, I was diagnosed with migraneious vertigo, but I also have ringing in my right ear. I been going the this for 3 years now. I will get dizzy just out of the blue. I can't drive anymore because of this, neither do I work. Did you take any vitamins are herbs ?

Hi SVR 28

Honesty I don't know how you know it's just anxity, it's so hard to deal with.. I had a panic attack at work today, it's been my first one in About 5 months... But the head thing is driving me nuts..

I've asked my doctor if I could could get a head scan done but she's like 'Elyse it's just your anxity'

How do they know for sure? I keep telling myself that I've been like this for nearly 12 months now and I'm still alive!! It's very frustrating..

It took me awhile to start driving again after my first panic attack..

It does put a lot of strain on family relationships..

My doctor has typed me up a mental health plan to go see a councillor but still haven't made a appointment yet :$$

Sorry to hear about today. I'd like a head scan to! It started off with my heart which they think is fine, but they have established I've got a pinched nerve in my neck so I had injections last Friday (which I needed to go private for) but this still leaves my chest pains, the weird tipsy head thing and occasional nasuea.

I feel like I'm a walking disaster and although my GP is sympathetic I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere and I've had to push for further testing.

It's been since the end of February for me. Everything was fine before then, I was a happy, fun person but now I feel lost and miserable with no answers.

I do the same as you and try and tell myself I've been like this for 6 months or so, it's not getting worse so I must be OK - right?

I don't know what to do next, what's the point of telling the GP and I've stopped telling my family because I'm sure they think I'm making it all up.

Hi I've jus read your post and I was wondering if you could help me . I jus had southerly a few weeks ago to get my appendix removed and the surgery was great but ever since I've been having bad anxiety well at least I think that's what it is. I stress everyday and over think everything to the worst! I was gettin mf chest pains everyday which was about a week ago they simmered down but now I'm having daily headaches and they seem to go in and out depending on how anxious I am. But I also have this weird feeling in my head that jus feels foggy it's hard to explain but I'm jus very scared and nobody understands me . First I thought something was wrong with my heart and the hospital checked because I've been in and out because of being paranoid and they said it was great. Now I think something is wrong with my head I jus need help!!

Hey, I stated getting Bowen Therapy done, and it has honestly helped so much I can’t remember the last time I had the pressure in my head.. it’s definitely worth giving it ago :)

Everything here sounds exactly like me.. I have headaches, dizziness, vertigo, chest pains... and it all goes away when I take Xanax... that's how I know it's anxiety... if it were not, Xanax would not make it go away... I also have some eye strain from not wearing my glasses but I am getting them replaced soon.

Omg I have been having the exact same symptoms for at least 5 months now . some days I will feel ok and some days I will feel horrible but its not a constant feeling through out the day . I would feel horrible certain times eg like in the morning or afternoon but then it will go away. I really need to find out what's wrong with me. I did have cancer back in 2008 so it really worries me if it could be a secondary cancer. I do wear glasses and I do feel they may also put a strain on my eyes as I am due for 2year eye test.

My head 'fuzziness' started about a year ago when I came down with Vertigo. The strong symptoms came down and lasted about six weeks. Since then I have had vertigo like symptoms everyday. I have seen a neurologist, three times. They keep giving me the same Eply maneuver. I have been to physical therapy for vertigo. I did that for about a month. That unfortunately didn't work. I went to my ear nose and throat doctor, he seemed to think it was anxiety based on my vertigo episode. I also went to my optometrist. They seem to think my eyes are fine. So, a year has gone by and everyday I deal with head fuzziness, anxiety and confusion. I have to deal with clients regularly. My anxiety about public speaking, even on a conference call gets amplified exponentially. I did try taking medication in the beginning, but the tradeoff was feeling numb and distance to my family all the time. So now I only take medication when I have a big meeting, Clonazepam. It seems to help. However I am at an impasse to actually solve the problem, just dealing with it everyday. I hope SVR28, Terryad, and the rest in this string can find peace and hope to solve the problem. I'm open to whatever will work; meditation, marijuana, hypnosis. We'll see. Just a couple more items about my past. I was diagnosed with Leukemia 3 years ago. I don't think that has anything to do with it, but I wanted to mention it just in case others feel like this. thank you, -Matt

Hi. I am having wierd feeling in my head. I feel like I am off balanced and drunk in my head, not my stomach. I have panic attacks and agarophobia. I been dead with this for 3 years now. I was prescribed topomax for my migranes, because they thought my migranes lead to vertigo, I also was prescribed antivert, for the vertigo, valium and Cymbalta to for agarophobia, sleeping pills for insomnia, but I still feel bad.

I can assure you it's not tension headaches and if it is I would count myself lucky there's cheap and reliable medicine for that I also get this feeling in my head I've had it for about a year now I was diagnosed with tension headaches given meds but they dont do anything because a tension headache is the feeling of a band putting pressure around your head and what I have and it seems like others as well is associated inside your head not outside comes with the usual nausea, eye discomforts(bloodshot, super heavy),constant feeling of having had a few drinks even tho I haven't drank in 8 months because of this ,couldn't be in a moving car because it was the worst feeling ever luckily that went away I can drive now well it still lingers but nothing like before.when it's really bad it's almost like brain waves hit me causing involuntary moves.I've been out of a job for a long time now and this is 100% the reason I don't know how I got this but I know it slowly built up all I know is I've almost forgot what normal feels like and I Jst want to be normal again.hopefully someone can get an accurate diagnosis with the proper treatment so we can have some hope.because I don't have insurance so I'm just gonna have to put up with it till someone gets an answer.

There you are….the answer I was looking for. I’ve recently been going through an “awakening,” and the weird feeling in my head is unbearable to say the least. Do you have any more info to share? A link or key words or conditions I can look up and study? I’ve been looking everywhere and stumbled across this site and for the first time and getting close to an answer. No one I talk to can relate or help. I’m seeing my neurologist next week but I was thinking this was an energy/ascension side effect/symptom…?
